Bentley Travel Visa remain firmly in control of Division 1 of the Crewe and District Table Tennis League although they did drop their first point in four matches in a 9 – 1 win over PO Dragons with Chris Bailey and Alan Marchant both hitting maximums and two wins for Will Haynes. Elsewhere, Kidsgrove gained a 7 – 3 win against Stags thanks to an unbeaten Paul Oltean and a pair of John Dawson wins whilst Nadeem Ahmed scored a brace of wins for Stags and in the other match played a James Courtney hat trick and two wins for Callum Tizard helped Elks to a 6 – 4 win over PO Tigers, Rupert Turner’s double for Tigers ensuring a close finish.
In Division 2, Cobras enjoyed a 7 – 3 win over Bobcats with Barrie Morgan, Barry Pountain and Dave Stubbs all scoring a brace of wins as did Doug Muirhead for Bobcats and Lynx got the biggest win in the division with a 10 – 0 whitewash of Otters with Chris Harris, Tau Manonge and Ben Ashton all unbeaten. Other results saw Rhinos win 8 – 2 against Bears with Darryl Klopper on top form while Paul Benbow and Steve Tizard each notching a pair of wins and Panthers were 6 – 4 winners over Wolves with Steve Jones and Braden Jones each scoring two wins apiece to edge the match whilst Hamish Howard’s two wins for Bobcats couldn’t prevent the defeat.
In Division 3 with only two results in, Pumas were 8 – 2 winners against Worleston Woodpeckers with Dennis Artess and Joe Heywood both unbeaten and two wins for Lewis Manslow. In the other match Sloths and Rheas both fielded depleted sides with Sloths coming out 5 – 4 winners thanks to an unbeaten Robert Miller.
