Impressive family double for Steve and Dan

Sussext Top 8 champion Dan Pound scored a fine win over Martin Gunn in four games on his way to a maximum against Blades B.New boy from Bromley Richard Carden won two and was also two games up v Martin before going down in five.Adam Todd won two,Tony Catt and Joelle Bennett copmpleted the Blades line up,7-2 to Foresters A.

Not to be outdone Father Steve helped Rory Scott to celebrate hitting the top 50  in the veterans list by beating him in five and also defeating Owen Brown three straight against Horsham Spinners A.Michael Bridger got value for money with three five setters winning deuce in the decider against Will Michell who was also defeated by superblocker Graham Carter.Will had an impressive 3-0 win over Steve.5-4 win to Blades D.

There were two crunch matches at the foot of the table,the first saw Crawley Community B take full advantage of the absence of JR to record a 7-2 victory over Crawley Sports.Paul Newton and John Callcut pocketed maximums and Graham Green one.Sally Henke and Graham Beaney won Sports only points.This result give Community some breathing space and leaves Sports stranded at the bottom.

The second was Foresters D v Foresters E,Gerry Pugh led the way with three wins including an 11-9 in the fifth over Kate Cheer.Adam Daley chipped in with two against James Wheatley and Alice Hazell and Phil Nicholls defeated Alice.6-3 to the Es.

Phil Smith re commenced rivalries with Phil Richardson and Barrie Gilbert after a gap of 25 years.He beat Jonyer three straight and went down in four to BG after a long drawn out game.Top man Paul Carter recovered well against Barty from two games down to win in five and won against Phil and Musa to gain a rare MOM.6-3 to Community.

The Pelc brothers roll on with Richard and Robert gaining  five of of Blades Cs six matches.Richard defeating Chris Vincent,Graham Barnes and Steve Hoad and Robert only going down deuce in the fifth against Digger Barnes.Richard Hazell beat Steve in five.Horsham gained three priceless points.

Blades A were without some of their big guns,Josh Bennett took three as expected ,Mike Robinson and Prakash won five setters versus Steve Barby.Lewis beat him three straight.Teresa made up the Blades line up.6-3 to Foresters B.
