New rubbers work wonders for Phillos performance

Both supervets  Phil Richardson and John Robinson have been around the block a few times but always produce entertaining matches,this one proved no exception with Phil recovering from 2-7 down in the third to win 11-5,8-11,11-9 11-6.Newlywed Sally Henke was 11-3,7-3 up against Barrie Gilbert but went down in four close games.She put in a great effort against Shaun Parsley(is he really a veteran)to lose narrowly 8 on the fifth.JR beat him in four games.Phil won an official Man of the match awards for winning all three which is very rare these days.Simon Knivett went down bravely in his games.As usual when Paul Carter is missing there is an immediate upturn in the teams fortunes,7-2 to CC A v Crawley Sports.

Ryzard Pelc was very pleased with his two fine victories against champions Foresters A defeating Brighton champion Mark Collins three straight and Lewis Mayhew in five despite losing the second 1-11.Craig Bryant must be a pleasure to umpire as he continues to win all of his games quickly and three straight,Graham Carter and Michael Bridger made up the numbers for newly promoted Blades C.7-2 to Foresters.

Despite getting no positive advice from her captain before playing hard bat hitter Martin Gunn Alice Hazell put up a good show before losing in three.Martin was talked out of one end by Dave Steel and beat James Wheatley comfortably,Tony Catt provided able support winning two only going down 4-11 in the decider against James.Richard Hazell must have felt suicidal at the end of the match having led James 2-0 in games and 7-1 and daughter Alice 2-0 and 5-1 before contriving to lose both in five.Foresters E 4 Blades B 5.

In the Foresters B versus D match  Mike Robinson won three while the only successes for the D team came from Bonzo defeating Tony Steel and a fine win for Gerry Pugh over new boy Tim Surrey.Adam Daley got a duck .7-2 to the Bs.

It looks like another hard winter for stragglers Copthorne who will again look to Gary Bristowe for a lot of their points,he produced the goods again with two wins over Horsham As Andrew Sharland and Dennis Hayden.Chris Vincent won three for Horsham,Chris Pullinger and Stuart Brooks fought hard with no reward,7-2 to Horsham. 

Mark Burman and Rory Scott won three each including impressive wins over Dan Pound and Adam Todd for Horsham Spinners,Alan Stone weighed in with a three straight victory over Phil Nicholls,7-2 to Spinners over Foresters C.

Poor old Crawley Community B got no help from the fixtures with matches against Foresters A and then Blades A,George Hazell trounced Graham Faulkner,Paul Newton and Sai Man Yau in between his homework with great support from Josh Bennett and Steve Barby,Blades only dropped one end in Steves four set win over Paul Newton.9-0 to Blades.
