Foresters A need just nine points from four matches to wrap up the championship,Blades A look certain to finish runners up still having the bottom two sides to play.There will be a battle for third place between last years winner Crawley Community A and Foresters B,with one point separating the two sides they meet in the final match of the season.At the other end Copthorne A are three points clear of Horsham B but both sides still have very tough fixtures coming up.
Forester A took no chances against their B team fielding unbeaten Craig Bryant and Martin Svensson both in splendid form,Wes Bush Harris was pushed all the way to five by Rodders and unusually Adam Todd did not win a single end,Gerry Pugh found the going tough.9-0.
Foresters D were in cruise control defeating two man Horsham A without fuss,James Wheatley and Rebecca George won two each while Dennis Hayden and Chris Vincent picked up consolation wins overcoming Barry Cheer.7-2 to Foresters.
Mike Hughes playing up for only the third time had a great victory over Tom Pomej but that was the extent of Copthornes success,Marc Burman and Rory Scott(now No 2 Ireland veteran)were dominant for Spinners in their 8-1 win.
With Paul Carter and Phil Richardson squabbling on a weekly basis about who should be man of the match Crawley Community A had an impressive 9-0 win over a strong Foresters C line up.Luke Gallacher won the first two games comfortably against Barrie Gilbert until a bad start in the third affected his confidence and the momentum of the match changed with Barrie winning in five.Newly selected county player Adam Daley found it hard going as did Bonzo who after losing all three also missed his bus on a freezing cold night!!!!Carter and Richardson both played well in patches.
An unusual match between Graham Carter and Graham Green saw Carter win two games by the margin of 11-0,the decisive one being in the fifth.Green had a good win over Michael Bridger and John Callcut had wins over Carter and Colin Jones.Bridger beat Callcutt but Community prevailed 5-4.
Foresters E took full advantage of a weakened Blades A side,Dave Steel led George Hazell two games to one before George showed him who was boss running out 11-1 in the fifth.Johnny Clarke,Mike Robinson and DS had solid wins over Erik Van Mol and Tony Catt.6-3 to Foresters.
John Robinson is firmly back in the saddle winning three comfortably against Horsham B.Sally Hughes likes to get her moneys worth being involved in three long five setters.Andrew Sharland achieved two important wins for his team defeating Graham Beaney 11-9 in the fifth and Sally 14-12.
