Blades inflict first defeat on newly crowned champions

An excellent performance from Josh Bennett and two from George Hazell gave Blades A a deserved win against Foresters A.Emma Torkington had a mixed evening following an impressive three straight win over George Hazell with a stuttering performance versus Tony Catt coming back from 2-1 down to just get over the line 7 in the fifth.George had yet another win over his coach Wes Bush Harris.5-4 to Blades.

Foresters B scored a 9-0 win over Horsham B to cement 3rd place and put themselves just four points behind Blades A in second spot.Newly crowned Brighton Closed champion Mark Collins continued his good form and Rodders also despite being pushed all the way by Gary Pells to 9 in the fifth.Even Phil Nicholls joined in the fun winning a rare maximum.

Graham Beaney had a 2-0 lead over Barrie Gilbert and a matchpoint in the fourth game playing really well before going down 6 in the decider.Barrie was unable to cope simultaneously with playing John Robinson and hearing what Graham Carter got up to at the weekend and went down tamely in four.John Callcut led 2-0 and had three matchpoints in the fourth against Sally Hughes who stormed back to win 11-7 in the final game.6-3 to Crawley Sports. 

Gerry Pugh and Adam Daley both scored impressive maximums against Horsham A,only Bonzo missed out going down in five to Graham Barnes and Chris Vincent,7-2 to Foresters C.

Andy Meads gained a standing ovation not for making it up to the bar without assistance but for a highly popular win against Rory Scott,soon to hit 70 Andy used all of his experience to win 11-9 in the fifth.Graham Faulkner lost to Tim Surrey after leading 2-0 in games,Junior Will Michell had a fine win over Andy.With Graham Green crocked in his first match Horsham Spinners ran out easy winners 7-2.

Rebecca George picked up three against Blades B beating Graham Carter Piers Van Mol and Michael Bridger,Michael and Graham both beat Kate Cheer and Bob Hoare.5-4 to Foresters D.

Foresters E defeated two man Copthorne with only Stuart Brooks taking Dave Steel to five.
