Champions hammered by in form Spinners

Horsham Spinners smashed Crawley Community A 9-0 with only three matches closely contested.Graham Faulkner lost in five to Ormesby recruit Tim Surrey,Barrie Gilbert lost to the same player 13-15 in the fourth and pushed new veteran Marc Burman to 8 in the fifth.Rory Scotts quest for the Top 100 seems to be gaining momentum with three comfortable wins over Gilbert,Callcut and Faulkner.If he continues to play this well he should set his sights higher.

The Community B team took an even greater pasting from Champions elect Foresters A whose trio of Wes BH,Evan Sharp and Mark Scutts were miserly to the extreme not dropping a single game to Graham Green,Robin Stace and Sai Man Yau.

A tight encounter between Horsham A and Blades B  saw Michael Bridger score his first ever maximum with wins over Graham Barnes,Chris Vincent and Steve Hoad.Vincent lost the first two games at deuce versus Tony Catt before turning the match round winning 2 and 1 in the last two .Carter and Catt both beat Hoad,Barnes and Vincent won two each. 

The Foresters D v Blades A match saw Steve Barby win all three.George Hazell lost to Kate Cheer but had good wins over Emma Torkington and James Wheatley.Steve Pound recorded an impressive win over Kate,Emma beat Steve as did James.Good to see three top ranked English Juniors in this match which augers well for the future of the league.6-3 to Blades.

Foresters E lost another close one against Crawley Sports.Prakash Kanji had an excellent win against weekend hero John Robinson with Sally Hughes equally impressive beating Prakash.In the battle of the blondes Rebecca  George edged out Sally.Graham Beaney won one.5-4 to Sports.

Dan Pound believes in getting his moneys worth with three five setters,unfortunately he lost them all the closest being 13-15 to Bonzo.Adam Daleys results continue to astound beating Dan Pound and a close loss in five to Matt Craig.Mark Collins was imperious winning all three in straights.Jan Collado had two fine wins over Pound and Craig.

In a possible basement battle supersub Mike Hughes had two excellent wins against Mark Weston and Gary Pells.Gary Bristowe continued last seasons excellent form with three victories.Nick Smith won two for Horsham B.6-3 to Copthorne.Stuart Brooks beat Weston.
