Crawley and Horsham District Table Tennis League

The Crawley & Horsham District Table Tennis League represents eight different Table Tennis Clubs across our region, serving 170 registered players.

The committee has representatives from each Club - we come together to organise and manage the League, to plan and run competitions and events and generally represent our players and promote the game.

In order to do this we need volunteers. Without these people we could not provide you with the playing opportunities and without others stepping in to support we will not be able to develop the League.

As part of a series of articles about what the league provides for players and how we should celebrate the work of our volunteers we describe here the Tuesday Night Practice Sessions.

On a Tuesday night, based at Holy Trinity School in Crawley the League runs a practice night for all League players. ( 7.30pm til 9.30pm) its an informal session and is well attended.

Derek Flanagan (also supported by Alison East and David Edwards) is our "main man" he turns up each week and sets up Tables / Nets and manages set down too. He collects the money each week and banks it. The hall is booked each week and the Tables abd equipment are cared for and maintained. The venue is locked up.

Without volunteers like Derek the sessions wouldn't run. The money we make in these sessions supports our League development and provides another playing opportunity, so please help us by playing on a Tuesday...the income helps.

Also, please make sure that you as a player, support set up and set down of these sessions and if you would like to get involved please contact your Club secretary, or contact the League Chairperson Maureen Hazell at
