On a night of many one sided matches Horsham A had a fine 8-1 victory against fellow strugglers Copthorne ,Steve Hoad led the way with victories over Gary Bristowe,Stuart Brooks and Chris Pullinger ably supported by Graham Barnes and Chris Vincent.
Horsham B matched Copthornes score with a fine win from Gary Pells over Kate Cheer,he also pushed top player James Wheatley to five games.8-1 to Foresters D.
Adam Daley nearly gave Wes Bush Harris another sleepless night coming back from two games down to lose close in five.All the years of painstaking coaching from his old man is beginning to pay off.Gary Bonners win was surprisingly easy over John Clarke who had reached the semi final of the Midland Masters over 60s at Tipton the weekend before. Craig Bryant won his matches in second gear.8-1 to the league leaders.
After Joe Compers 9 in the fifth victory over Steve Pound in the first match Crawley Sports found it an uphill struggle thereafter.Sally Hughes put up a fine effort losing to much improved George Hazell in five.Steve Barby was clinical in his straight sets wins.Another 8-1 to Blades A.
Foresters B showed no brotherly love to their E team giving them a 9-0 pasting with Barry Cheer taking the only match the distance versus Dan Pound.Matt Craig and Mark Collins were not troubled.
The closest match of the night was Horsham Spinners A defeating Blades B 6-3,Rory Scott just squeezed past Colin Jones 13-11 in the decider.Richard Hazell had an excellent three straight win over Tom Pomej as did Colin.As per usual Graham Carter was performing in the final match of the evening but Rory Scott was determined not to be delayed arriving at the bar finishing the match off with some crunching forehand winners.
Graham Faulkner has been close on many occasions to defeating Barrie Gilbert over the last 20 years and finally achieved it three straight for Community B against the A side.Graham also pushed Phil Richardson to five as did Sai Man Yau who has added some new words to his vocabulary since teaming up with Graham Green who competed well against the stickmen.Paul Carter oozed class even his mistakes look silky.Another 8-1 which moves the A team above the Bs.
