Eagles claw their way to safety

Colebridge Eagles lost , 4-6 at home to promotion chasing Streetly B yesterday evening ( March 4th ).

Star of the show for The Eagles was the remarkable Rottweiler. Only recently recovered from a debilitating chest infection, Bernard Oliver beat both Division One individual contender Richard Parks and the vastly experienced combination bat player Terry Cooper.

Farooq Kakar also beat Cooper before doubles specialist John Swinburne paired up with Bernard to take the doubles.

Streetly B were in no mood to travel the length of the city to dispense favours last night ; the trio of Steve Taylor , Richard Parks and Terry Cooper are looking to convert their games in hand into a points tally of promotion proportions.

On this form , their run in , and promotion battle , will be a compelling affair.

For the Eagles , a defeat , but also an important point as they seek to claw their way to first division safety.
