Championship decider

Colebridge have three teams in Division Two of the Birmingham league , occupying the top three spots in the league .

As the Winter season draws to a close, two of those Colebridge teams , Giants and Falcons , are locked in a fierce battle for promotion , which will reach its climax next Thursday evening when they play each other in what will almost certainly be a championship decider.

Top of the table are Colebridge Giants who have been resurgent with the addition of dynamic , attacking pen holder Mark Hadley to their roster , team mates are experienced hands Chris Allen and Mick Bere.

In second place , and three points behind , are Colebridge Falcons. Their leading player this season has been 17 year old Jamie Fellows , who has emerged over the campaign as an exciting prospect of genuine potential , whose lethal forehand top spinning has improved beyond measure under the thoughtful tutelage of Colebridges coaches.

Jamies team mates this season are 2013/2014 Warwickshire O'60's runner up Tim Fell , and defensive maestro Frank Cotter.

Add to this mix the individual crown , for which both Messrs Hadley and Fellows are vying , and there is everything to play for.

The only cloud on the horizon which may prevent Colebridge achieving a double promotion is Ivy Leaf . They have three games in hand , and should they convert these into a maximum points return , they could yet spoil the promotion party for one of the Colebridge teams.

Thursday evenings fixture is a match to be relished , only rarely does so much rest on the result of one contest ; good luck to all concerned.
