National Cadet League Sunday 16th November Wood Green

Report by Ed Lynn -

Hawley Ellicott, 13 (approx 3 months at Colebridge), Ben Furey, 14 - did not play all Summer, and only attends one advanced session a week at Colebridge, and Aaryan Deshpande, 11 years of age, who also isn't able to attend every week.

Well....we have a great opportunity to push things forward. They won their first 3 matches yesterday 5-1, 6-0, 6-0, then drew a match 3-3. Their last encounter ended in a 6-0 loss to Woodfield. Des Douglas does 1-1 support on Friday evenings at Woodfield, and senior members also practice with their better younger players on a regular basis.

It seems to me I have some more work to do, but it certainly isn't all about coaching. I will be putting a plan together shortly so that we have a programme with which we can compete at the highest level with other clubs in our region. I hope I can convince a few better players to give our youngsters a fighting chance of achieving great success.

We certainly have a few players coming through, needless to mention we were without Lisa and Sophie Rinhoffer yesterday, so a massive success given how much some of the other club players play.

Onwards and upwards 100%. Well done to all of our youngsters at Colebridge. Great work and a great team spirit at all times.
