Amann makes his mark

Amann Ubhi confirmed his status as the leading player in the city with an emphatic treble for leaders Colebridge Aces against arch rivals Hamstead A , although Amann was taken to five sets by Lester Bertie , and four sets by both Nabil Khalfey and Steve Bertie , he overcame each player and teamed up with Ed Lynn for a crucial five set victory in the doubles over renowned doubles specialists the Bertie brothers.

The 19 year old from Acocks Green is virtually unplayable locally and needs to shine on the Grand Prix circuit if he is to progress into the upper reaches of the England ranking list .

Aces are now strong favourites to take the title following their victory, with Smiths Wood A having taken over from Hamstead as nearest challengers. The two teams meet at Colebridge next month - March 14th , in a keenly anticipated match , but with Amann in such great nick it's difficult to see anything other than Colebridge taking the title.

Well played lads , and lets not forget Ed Lynn and Nav Matharu , who both chipped in with singles , to secure such an important victory for Colebridge.
