Paul Hewitt and Jared Chelski maintain their unbeaten start to the season

The 2016/17 season may only be three matches in, but Paul Hewitt (Lawford C) has already proved his strength in Division Two. Having played all available games so far, Hewitt has won all nine of his games he has played. His most recent maximum came against Gt Horkesley B, helping Lawford to win 8-2. Andrea Alleyne also won all of her games that evening. Tollgate E recorded a very good 9-1 victory over Dedham A. Roger Hance and Richard Baxter were both unbeaten. Pegasus B beat Tollesbury B 7-3, with Tony Eversden winning all his games. Rowhedge G beat Rowhedge E 6-4. Jared Chelski again proved his ability playing in a higher division than last season by achieving a maximum. Chelski, like Hewitt, has won nine out of nine games so far this season. Rowhedge F beat St James D 8-2. Pawel Szemro won all his games.

 

In Division Three, Pegasus C drew 5-5 with Gilberd A. Olly Fifield is another played to remain unbeaten after winning his first nine games, but Nigel Parmenter fought valiantly, just losing 4-11 in the 5th set. Tollgate G move into the top position thanks to a 6-4 win over Pegasus D. Andy Huang achieved a maximum. Tollgate F beat Gt Horkesley D 9-1 to move within one point of the Gt Horkesley team, who also have two games in hand. Eight of the ten games were won in three sets. Pegasus E drew 5-5 with St James E. John Marshall won all his games for St James. Gt Horkesley C beat Dedham B 8-2, with Ian Carter and Roger Warren both winning all their games.

 

In Division Four, Lawford D and Rowhedge H shared the spoils, even with Rowhedge only turning up with two players. Jamie Morgan achieved a maximum for Rowhedge.

 

Reigning champions, Tollgate A, have already stretched their lead at the top of the Premier Division to 12 points. They beat newly promoted Lawford A 9-1, with Keith Norman winning Lawford’s only point of the evening. Pegasus A beat Tollgate B 6-4. Robert Bozier won all his games for Pegasus. Martyn Green was the closest to beating him losing in four sets. St James A climb up to 2nd in the table after beating Rowhedge B 8-2. James Denyer defeated all those who stood before him.

 

In Division One, Walton B claimed an 8-2 victory over Tollesbury A. Paul Meikle played his first match of the season and walked out unbeaten. St James C had a good win against Rowhedge C, beating them 6-4. Andrew Vincent seems to have continued his good form from last season by winning all three of his games. Gt Horkesley A beat Tollgate D 7-3, with Richard Kemp ending the night unbeaten.
