With the majority of games having now been completed for the first half of the season, it is clear to see that nothing has yet been won or lost in each division. Rowhedge B are currently the highest placed team in the Colchester & District Table Tennis League. Having not lost a game all season, no one would hold any grudges against them being top of the Premier Division. Tollgate A are in second place, but hot on their heels are Gt Horkesley B. They swept aside Dedham A 10-0 and sit six points back with a game in hand. Rowhedge A had an extremely good win against Tollgate B, thrashing them 10-0. This has helped Rowhedge move away from the relegation zone. St James B proved too strong for Walton A, albeit with only two players! Sam Hume and John Hatley both won all of their singles for St James, including the doubles. St James A and Pegasus A are both in the danger zone, but they have got games in hand over the next few teams above them.
Rowhedge E are top of Division One thanks to a 6-4 victory over Tollgate C. Pegasus B leapfrog Walton B into 2nd with a good 6-4 win against them. Steve Noble managed to win all of his games for Pegasus. St James C move out of the relegation zone by beating Rowhedge D 6-4. Andrew Vincent achieved a maximum for St James. Tollesbury A beat Gt Horkesley B 6-4 in a tightly fought contest.
In Division Two, the top two teams are only separated by four points. Pegasus C beat St James D 7-3, with Eric Melvin winning all of his games for Pegasus. Gt Horkesley D need to pick up some good results in the second half of the season if they wish to stay in the division. Unfortunately, they lost 7-3 to Dedham B thanks to maximums from George Berry and Jonathan Fieldsend. Lawford B picked up some valuable points if they wish to challenge for promotion come the end of the season. They beat Gt Horkesley C 8-2. Richard Spence won all of his games. Tollesbury B are the surprise package in the division after gaining promotion from Division Three last season. They currently sit in 3rd place, beating Rowhedge G 6-4. Martin Lewis achieved a maximum for Tollesbury.
Lawford C are already running away with the title in Division Three. They beat the Gilberd A 8-2 to move 18 points clear at the top of the table. Their nearest challengers are Rowhedge H, who won 7-3 against Pegasus F. Ken James beat every player for Rowhedge. Lawford D and Dedham C played out a 5-5 draw. Pegasus E recorded a 7-3 victory over Rowhedge I. Barry Haley won all of his games for Pegasus.
