New year in Division 1

The second half of the season is underway and St James C have consolidated their place at the top of D1 with 2 more wins. An 8-2 away win at Rowhedge E was followed up with 6-4 home victory over Walton B, giving the Clacton based team 85 points from 12 games played. An average of 7 per match is usually title winning form and they will certainly be favourites to be in the Premier Division next year. Hot on their heels come Dedham A and Walton A, each with 7 wins although Dedham have played one game fewer. Walton A’s  ageless Colin Dearman has started 2015 with consecutive Colchester maximums, the first at Tollesbury then at home to St James B.  Tollgate’s Daryl Lott is another who has started 2015 well, picking up 4 out of 6 in his encounters with his former Rowhedge clubmates.  At the bottom, Tollesbury A will have to fight hard to avoid consecutive relegations, but with most teams still having 10 matches still to play everything is still to play for.
