Lawford A make a strong start to life in Division 2

After all results from week one in Division 2 have now been collected, not much can be taken from an early look of the table. Lawford A's first game after making the drop to Division 2 ended in an 8-2 win over a strong Pegasus C. Graham Mortimer managed to get through the night unbeaten, winning all games in four sets or less. Steve Noble tried valiantly for Pegasus, who was able to win 2 of his games.

Another team to pick up 8 points from the first game was Gt Horkesley F against Dedham B. Ian Carter was in formidable form as usual winning all 3 of his games. However, Dedham only turned out with 2 players. The result could have been a lot closer if all ten games were played.

Pegasus B lie just behind in 3rd place. They recorded a good 7-3 victory over newly promoted Lawford B, with both Tony Eversden and Gordon Fairchild achieving 3/3 wins.

Tollgate D and Rowhedge G had a closely fought match which went down to the final game of the evening. Michael Taylor comfortably beat Elliott Attrill meaning Tollgate D came away with the 6-4 win. One notable performance was by Daryl Lott. After making the switch from Rowhedge to Tollgate a couple of seasons ago, Daryl wanted to prove his decision to switch clubs was a smart one. And he did so by winning all 3 of his games, although Elliott took him close by just losing the 5th set 7-11.

The next set of games sees a friendly rivalry between Pegasus B & Pegasus C. Who will come out on top? Only time will tell.
