Tollgate A swept Gt Horkesley B aside 8-2 and in doing so became the only team in the League that have won all of their matches so far. Despite this they are only in third position but have games in hand over both teams above them. This week they were without Jane Li but with maximums from Greg Green and Colin Stallwood they continued their run. Just above them in second is one of the surprises of the season - their B team! They have won their last three matches and despite an impressive maximum from Steve Joslin H20 Rowhedge C went down 6-4. Newly crowned English ping Pong champion Richard Hutchinson playing with his hard bat won two for Tollgate as did Nigel Hodder.
Leaders Gt Horkesley A were without a match this week but remain top.
H20 Rowhedge A are another team on a good run as they made it four straight wins the latest an interesting 6-4 win at St James A. Former England international Stuart Gibbs made his first appearance of the season winning two but suffered a surprise defeat to Adam Douch in five ends, a memorable win for the youngster. John Andrews and David Moss joined Douch, both winning two to complete the win.
The bottom two teams both met and predictably the match between Tollesbury A and St James B ended in a 5-5 draw, No player remained unbeaten with messrs Page and Freeman, playing up, both winning two for Tollesbury and Barton and Vincent emulating this feat for the Clacton outfit. Both are still without a win!
