Nunthorpe A moved into third place in the Cleveland and District Summer Table Tennis League last week with a 7-3 victory over Ormesby C in the 1st Division despite a hat-trick from Ben Savage. Mike Fenby, Glenn Hodgson and David Williams all won 2 games each for Nunthorpe.
Savage’s hat-trick was convincing as he won two of his sets in straight games and then beat Williams by 3-1.
This result gives Nunthorpe 25 points from five matches and they are four points behind Ormesby B who are in second position with 29 points. Ormesby A lead the table by a large margin with 48 points. Equal with Nunthorpe are Westbourne A on 25 points whilst Beaumont remain in the frame for honours with 23. Ormesby C have dropped out of the picture due to this result as they now trail by 4 points with only 21.
