News Report wc Sept 17 2018

Having suffered a heavy opening week defeat the talented Pulford side returned to winning ways in their home Premier division fixture against Newton A, winning by a scoreline of 8-2. Simon Jones hit a maximum and for the visitors returning John Chan played well for his two victories. Barna and Sebi Kustan made debut appearances for Newton A.

Shaun Hall and Mark Pugh were also both undefeated as Newton took advantage of a weakened Barrow team to register an important 9 1 victory over the champions, both players defeating highly ranked Aaron Beech. Elsewhere Jens Andersen led County Officers to a hard fought draw against newly promoted Officers B, for whom Daniel Webber hit two fine wins.

In division 1 Steve Clift was again in top form as Groves A were held to 5 5 by the experienced Beechwood trio, and Newton B recorded an important victory at Officers C by 7 points to 3. Paul Ingham showed his undoubted talent as he led Groves C to a comfortable 7 3 success over Groves B.

Paul Curley and Gary Owen both hit maximums in division 2 as Newton C defeated Officers E 7 3 to remain top, and Simon Watts and Sue Burgess were in great form as Newton D opened their season with an emphatic 10 0 victory over newly promoted Barrow C.  Lynsey Pellew-Nabbs bounced back from last weeks surprise defeat to Darryl Pickering by hitting a maximum against Barrow B but failed to save Groves D from a 4 6 reverse.

In division 3 Officers F continue to set the pace having recorded a fine 10 0 win over their own G team.
