In the bottom of the table clash in the Premier division Russell Benstead finally led his Groves team to an important victory, a 7 3 success over fellow strugglers Newton A who included Lancashire County player Brenda Buoey. Elsewhere Newton emphatically outpointed County Officers A 9 1 and Simon Jones was undefeated as Pulford moved up the table following a hard fought 8 2 win over Officers first team.
The Saughall teams continue to dominate division 1, the Port squad overcame a useful Groves C team 7 3 thanks to a Hong Wang maximum, and Mike Phelan led the Deva team to an emphatic 9 1 scoreline over Groves B, all his games going to a 5th decider. A Charlie Cooke maximum failed to save Officers C going down 4 6 to Barrow A and Newton B welcomed back talented Connor Climo after a year out as they defeated Groves A 6 4 winning the last 3 games. Jack Auckland was undefeated as Tarporley Electric drew with Beechwood , his team still missing number 1 player Andrew Moulton through injury.
In division 2 Martin Dodd and Gareth Hughes ensured a fine 9 1 victory for Barrow B over Officers D, and Newton E drafted in Haseeb Hanif against the Newton D squad and he promptly won all his games to give the team a 7 3 win, their first of the season. Matty Gilmour was again in fine form for bottom placed Barrow C but failed to save the team from a 3 7 defeat.
Stephen Wright was undefeated for Tarporley A as they returned from Officers H with an important 8 2 victory and John Ashton was in top form for Officers G winning all his games in 5 sets, but failed to save his team from a 3 7 reverse at Saughall Inst. At the top Barrow D edged out a useful Groves E squad 6 4.
