News Report wc 18 Dec 2017

In a division 1 encounter Groves C recorded an emphatic 8 2 win over their own A side, albeit top player Steve Clift was absent for the A team and reserve Linda Powell was unfortunately unable to make up his expected points. Nevertheless Mike Moss was in unbeatable form and was very ably backed by captain Steve Sung and Paul Ingham , newcomer this season but experienced player who has competed in the Halton and Mid Cheshire top divisions.

In division 2 Tom Bawn hit a tremendous maximum for lowly Officers D as they outpointed Kelsall Cobras 6 4. He defeated Paul Curley in 5 and Gary Owen in 4 , all very close games, and is now showing the form that made him such an impressive newcomer a year or so ago. John Ashton and Ian Roper hit vital wins as the team tries to avoid a relegation spot.

In division 3 County Officers F improved their league position when emphatically defeating a sporting Groves E trio 8 2. The Officers fielded Jonas Potyka to back up top section player Rafa Kolodziejski and both were unbeaten as division 3 continues to be an intriguing race for the title.

Regards and a Happy New a Year !
