Barrow emphatically retained the Premier division title when they recorded a terrific 10 0 victory over a full strength Pulford team. Aaron Beech was free from coaching commitments and was ably joined by county players Jonathan Taylor and Malcolm McEvoy and although Simon Jones and his team fought hard they failed to take any points. Elsewhere Shaun Hall ensured Newton take runners up spot following a comprehensive 8 2 scoreline over a useful Pulford A trio and in a later match Newton also reached the Premier cup final at the expense of a young Newton A team by a 5 1 scoreline.
In division 1 even though Saughall Deva defeated Newton C 6 4 it was not enough to go above them in the league and they finish 2nd and 3rd from bottom with Officers C in the relegation spot.
Congratulations to the Officers E squad of Andrew Taylor, Nigel Campbell and William Wood for clinching the division 3 title following a hard fought 7 3 victory at Groves E. Roger Dutton hit a fine maximum for Officers F in their final match, a draw against Electric Sports A.
In the Peter Powell division 1 cup final Newton C played to top expectations against the experienced Officers A squad and eventually won a fine match 5 2. Alex Relea -Linder led the way backed up by Jeff Sharples and Simon Watts.
The Veterans B team returned from their Lancs/Cheshire match against Wigan A unfortunately having suffered a 9 1 defeat but looking forward to next season with confidence.
