The Veterans A side recorded a fine 7 3 home victory over a good Barrow in Furness A trio to move into a challenging position in Lancs/ Cheshire division 2. Andy Eagles was in terrific form and was well backed up by Pulford teammates Ray Worthington and Nev Lacey. The veterans B side had earlier welcomed Blackpool B for a division 2 encounter which ended 5 5 , Andy Taylor and Wayne Taylor each hitting two wins and Taylor and Bartlett hitting the all important doubles win.

In the local Premier division Graham Boyd stepped up for Groves and hit a fine maximum to earn his team a hard earned draw with Newton A, and Malcolm McEvoy led Barrow to a 10 0 victory over Barrow A to extend their lead at the top of the table.

Alan Rigby was again in unbeatable form as County Officers A went top of division 1 following a 9 1 scoreline against Groves C, and Saughall Deva moved off the bottom following a draw at home to a Geoff Willetts inspired Beechwood side.

Division 2 highlights saw leaders Saughall Port record an emphatic 9 1 away victory at Barrow B, Glyn Jones showing fine form, whilst rivals Barrovians defeated Barrow C 7 3. Ian Barlow hit a terrific maximum for Officers C but failed to stop his team from going down 6 4 to in form Electric Sports.

Division 3 is becoming increasingly close at the top between four teams, Barrow E remain second following a hard fought 7 3 success over Groves E, and Bob Salisbury led Saughall Institute to a similar scoreline away at Officers F.
