A very powerful Barrow squad including Peter Walsh and Aaron Beech proved far too strong for County Officers in a Premier clash which ended in an emphatic 10 0 victory to put the villagers back on top of the league table. Ray Worthington and Dave Southall turned out for Pulford and they also recorded a maximum scoreline, this time against Pulford A and a delighted Groves team finally hit a Premier victory, a narrow 6 4 result against John Allera and his Barrow A side.

In division 1 Roger Lee was in top form as he led leaders Newton C to a comprehensive 10 0 result against a full strength Groves B squad, and Steve Clift hit a maximum as Groves A recorded a 6 4 victory over hard hitting Officers B. Beechwood continued their fine run with a narrow success over lowly Newton C and Mike Moss and Steve Sung ensured Groves C hit a 7 3 win over bottom placed Saughall Deva.

Steve Wright was undefeated for Tarporley in a division 2 clash at Officers C but failed to stop a 4 6 reverse, and Tom Bawn played well for Officers D but his team were still defeated by in form Electric Sports. Leaders Saughall Port proved too strong for Groves D running out winners 7 3.

Division 3 highlights included a first defeat for leaders Officers E as they went down 4 6 to the strong Barrow D side led by Paul Curley and Gary Owen. Challengers Saughall Port comfortably accounted for Electric A 8 2 with Maureen Cartwright and Brian Ward hitting vital wins.

Barrow D reached the divisional cup final following a 5 1 victory over a young and enthusiastic Groves E trio.
