Pulford played their first Premier division match when they comfortably outpointed a more than useful Newton A squad including Phil Luxon. Andy Eagles and Simon Jones were in fine form for the victors and a terrific match between Nev Lacey and Stuart Dearden ended 13 11 in the fifth in favour of the village player. Elsewhere in this division Mark Pugh led Newton to an entertaining 8 2 victory over a competitive Select team for whom Graham Boyd and Mark Simpson played well.

Division 1 highlights included a 7 3 victory for pace setters Officers B over Saughall Deva , and fine maximum for Peter Cottam as he ensured Groves B forced a draw at home to Beechwood. In an earlier match the Groves squad had recorded a convincing victory over relegated Barrow A by a similar scoreline. Elsewhere Polina Petrova was another player undefeated as Saughall Port outpointed bottom placed Newton B by a scoreline of 7 3.

Neil Powell debuted for Groves D in their division 2 away victory over Officers E, daughter Lynsey leading the way with 3 comfortable wins in a 7 3 scoreline, and Ian Barlow hit another maximum as Officers C comfortably defeated lowly Barrow C 8 2.

The only division 3 fixture ended in a fine hard fought draw for Newton C against experienced Officers E. Laurence Cartwright hit two fine wins for the home team and teamed up with Oong Lee for the vital doubles point.
