Cup week in division 3 produced some excellent matches with the clash between title contenders Barrow D and rivals Saughall Inst the pick of the three. In a match that went to a deciding game Maureen Cartwright backed up Bob Salisbury to guide the Institute to a brilliant 5 4 result and a place in the semis. Joining them , following a hard fought 5 3 away victory, are Groves E who defeated a much changed Newton C squad that had defeated them in a league match only ten days previously. Will Davies played very well for the victors. In the clash of the two County Officers teams in this division the G team, led by Roger Dutton, surprised the fancied F team to triumph 6 2.

In the division 1 cup quarter finals Daniel Webber played well as County Officers B continued their fine run with a comfortable 5 2 success over Beechwood and Saughall Deva progressed 5 1 at the expense of Groves B.

Division 2 quarters resulted in a fine 5 1 success for County Officers C over Barrow C, Ian Barlow prominent for the victors, and a very impressive 5 2 win for cup specialists Barrow B at home to newly promoted Kelsall Cobras. Gareth Hughes and Steve Tibbett backed up captain Jim Whittaker to reach the semi finals in style.

At town level the Veterans first team recorded a terrific 9 1 home win over Bolton in a Lancs/ Cheshire Premier match, captain Rob Wylie and Mark Pugh hitting fine maximums. 
The B team returned from their very long trip to Barrow in Furness having suffered a narrow 4 6 defeat against a team that was in a higher division last season, a good performance considering.
