Congratulations to captain Rob Wylie and his very powerful Barrow squad who clinched the Premier division title when rivals Newton A could only defeat a determined Select team 7 3. Cheshire veteran player Ken Connor was in fine form for the winners whilst Colin Fergus collected hard fought wins for the bottom of the table side.

In a vital division 2 fixture Lindsay Pellew-Nabbs was in maximum mood for Groves D limiting title favourites Saughall Port to their seventh draw of the season and the village team still have to face main rivals County Officers C later in the month. At one stage it looked as if they would swap places with Saughall Deva in division 1 as they were bottom of the table but led by Wayne Taylor the Deva trio have risen above the relegation places.

The division 1 cup semi final between Newton B and champions County Officers began brightly for the underdogs when Mike Mercer recorded a brilliant win over Clwyd player Harold Furber but their success was short lived as Officers went on to win comprehensively 7 2 and now face their own A team in the final.
