The Veterans first team entertained Mid Cheshire league in a Lancs/Cheshire Premier division match and although fielding a weakened team the hosts recorded a 6 4 victory with Milan Puchala in unbeatable form and he was well backed up by county player Ken Connor. They now lie in third position with one match remaining. The Veterans B team also had an important match away at Wigan A and came back with a creditable draw that keeps them in contention for promotion from division 3.

In the local division 1 leaders County Officers recorded a fine 7 3 victory at improving Saughall Deva whilst rivals Officers A were being held to a draw by the highly rated Barrow A trio. Mike Moss was again in fine form as Groves C narrowly outpointed Beechwood 6 4 and Newton B lost 4 6 to Groves A even though Mike Mercer was undefeated.

In division 2 Roger Dutton led Officers B to a terrific 9 1 scoreline over struggling Groves D, whilst title chasing Officers C were struggling to overcome bottom placed Tarporley 6 4. Steve Wright played exceptionally well for the villagers. Elsewhere Jim Whitaker and Gareth Hughes ensured Barrow B remain in the promotion chase as they defeated Officers D 7 points to 3.

Division 3 action saw Saughall Institute record an important 9 1 success over Officers G, Bob Salisbury hitting a fine maximum for the victors who now close on the leaders Barrow C. Bottom placed Electric Sports A had a terrific victory over Officers F with Brian Kelly once again in fine form.
