Barrow remain top of the Premier division following an emphatic 10 0 win over their A squad, talented Jonathan Taylor being well backed up by teammates Steve Green and Rob Wylie. Newton recorded an 8 2 victory over County Officers, Connor Climo continuing his run of good form and Alex Relea- Linder hit his first maximum as he led a young Newton A trio to a comfortable 7 3 scoreline against Groves for whom Russell Benstead hit two fine wins.

Alan Rigby was undefeated for County Officers A in division 1 as they returned from Groves C with a fine 8 2 win which keeps them top of the table. On an adjoining table Phil Hough was in terrific hitting form as he led Groves B to a comprehensive 7 3 victory over a sporting Officers B team.

Division 2 action saw leaders Saughall Port outpoint Barrow B 7 3 with Glyn Jones in fine form for the victors, but Barrovians remain in close contention following a hard fought 6 4 win over battling Barrow C.  Jens Andersen and Terry Haselden were both undefeated for the winners. Elsewhere Jack Auckland hit two fine wins but failed to save Electric Sports from being defeated 4 6 by the very useful Officers C squad, and the struggling Officers D team went down to a similar scoreline at home to Groves D despite two wins each for Tom Bawn and Ian Roper.

Bob Salisbury hit a maximum to steer Saughall Institute to an important 7 3 win over lowly Officers F in a division 3 fixture but the team setting the pace is the revamped Officers E squad who defeated Officers G 7 3 with good performances from newcomers Andrew Smith and Andrew Taylor.
