Recently given his chance to play County table tennis with Clwyd, John Chan led his Pulford B side to the top of the division 1 following an emphatic 8-2 victory over rivals Barrow A, captain Mike Phelan was also unbeaten during the evening. Groves A were also in contention for top spot but lost to their first team 6-4 with Steve Clift once again hitting a fine maximum. Barry Hough has at last begun to show last seasons form and hit 3 great wins as Groves B continued to climb the table following a 7-3 scoreline over struggling Barrow B, and Geoff Willetts ensured that Beechwood shared the points with Saughall Port.

Linda Powell was in fine form for improving Groves D, as was Steve Sung, and this resulted in a convincing 8-2 victory over  Barrovians to take them into a top two spot in the second  division. Tarporley entertained in form County Officers B but even Dave Galley was  unable to prevent the leaders recording an 8-2 win with Colin Fergus undefeated.

Division 3 action saw Hom Wang and Ian Roper lead County Officers D to top position following a fine 7-3 success over their own F squad, but  rivals Barrow C maintained the pressure with a 7-3 win over Electric Sports A despite a maximum from Janet Timewell. Glyn Jones ensured that Saughall Institute stayed in contention with a comfortable away win over struggling Groves E and Russell Hunt was also undefeated as mid table Barrow D narrowly defeated Officers E 6-4.

In the only Premier division match Hannah Winfield was in terrific form and with her big hitting she led the County Officers team to a welcome 6-4  scoreline over a useful Pulford A squad including student newcomer Joe Cutts.
