In the division 1 cup, first round, Terry Marshall and his powerful Groves A squad proved far too strong for a Pulford B trio, albeit playing without captain Mike Phelan, and raced to a comfortable 5-0 scoreline. They now travel to play Saughall Port in the quarters.
In the division 2 Burrell Cup there were some very close encounters indeed, two matches going to a 9th game decider. Barrovians took on Tony Collard and his County Officers C team and two close wins for John Rowland and a fine doubles win saw the newly promoted side triumph 5-4, as did Electric Sports away at Groves D. They were well led by Greg Marsh and he had good support from talented Jack Auckland. In the other quarter final played Mike Moss fought a losing battle for Groves C in their home clash with a good Saughall Deva trio and the villagers advanced 5-3.
The division 3 cup featured one match, again going to a decider. Russell Hunt and his Barrow D side entertained County Officers G and the home side needed all their experience to triumph 5-4 and reach the semis.
In the Premier cup, round one, Pulford travelled to County Officers A who included Keith Roper for his first game of the season, but even without Rumanian Florin Barbus the Pulford side eased into the semi finals.
In the only division 1 league fixture Roger Lee led bottom placed Newton B to a hard fought and narrow victory at Saughall Port by a score of 6-4.
