In the only outstanding Premier Cup quarter final Neil Powell and Ashley Hill led Newton A to a comfortable 6-2 victory over a solid Pulford A squad, and now face favourites Barrow in the semis.

Division 1 cup action saw Robin Barker and his Groves A team ease past a sporting Beechwood trio 5-1, and they are joined in the last  four by a Roger Lee inspired Newton B trio who outpointed the Groves first team.  Jim Whitaker and his Barrow B squad raced into a 4-0 lead against opponents Saughall Port and must have assumed they were assured of  victory but with three doubles defeats they eventually lost in the deciding 9th game. 

Burrell Cup action saw the outstanding quarter final take place at County Officers with the powerful B team comfortably ousting Tarporley 5-1 and they now face an intriguing semi against in form Barrovians. 

In the Devine Shield div 3 cup two of the quarter final ties went to a deciding game, Steve Tibbett and the Barrow C side overcoming John Ashton and his improving Officers F side, and Brian Kelly and the Electric Sports A team having to play hard to defeat Officers E, again by a scoreline of  5-4. However there was success for the County Officers Club in this competition as Ian Roper led the E team to a fine 5-2 victory over Russell Hunt and the Barrow D team. 

In the only division 3 clash in form Glynn Jones led Saughall Inst to a narrow and important 6- 4 win over one of the title favourites Electric Sports A.
