League report wc 18 November

Division 1 action saw Hannah Winfield lead County Officers A to the top of the table following an emphatic 9-1 victory over a useful Barrow A squad with challengers Pulford A edging out previously undefeated Groves A 6-4. Robin Barker hit three wins as struggling Whitby Sports A recorded a welcome  6-4 success over John. Chan and his Pulford B side, and Barrow B and Corus C fought out an entertaining draw.

In division 2 Steve Williams led County Officers C to a fine 9-1 win over promoted Groves C who continue to struggle at this level, and on an adjoining table Colin Fergus helped the Officers B squad draw with improving Groves B. Dave Galley led Tarporley to a narrow 6-4 scoreline away at Barrow C to move them further away from the relegation area but Whitby Sports A were unable to improve their position going down 4-6 to Saughall Deva.

Chris Walker hit a maximum for Saughall Inst in there division 3 clash with County Officers E which resulted in a 7-3 victory for the villagers, and elsewhere Russell Hunt led Barrow F to a slender win at Groves D. Ian Roper was in fine form for Northcote as they out pointed lowly Officers F  7 -3.

Premier action saw Corus B hit a terrific win over Pulford with Shaun Hall again undefeated, but Tomasz Halucha recorded a fine victory over Wayne Percival and also took Hall to a close fourth game. Jonathan Taylor returned to the Barrow team and led them to a hard fought 6-4 success over the current champions British Steel.
