Reg Snow

The Committee of CLTTL have sadly learned that Reg Snow the President of the league since 2006, has died recently. Reg was also our previous Chairman from 1971 to 1997.

His wife Sheila who predeceased Reg, was a participant from the very first season of our existence (1943-44) and Reg himself also began his playing career in the Central League in the 1940's.

The first twenty five years of the leagues history were halcyon days when table tennis was a mass participation sport. However there was a downturn in the 1980’s and 90’s when other attractions threatened the future of leagues like ours.

It was during that period when Reg and Sheila contributed greatly as principle organisers, giving their enthusiasm and time generously. It's not an exaggeration to say that without them the CLTTL may well have folded and not survived to be what it is today.

So although the majority of our current players would not have met them, we all owe Reg and Sheila a debt of gratitude for the competition we enjoy.

Tony Lee will represent the Committee at the funeral on Monday 26th January 2015, Randall's Park crematorium, Epsom. A donation will be made to the Baronets Trust on behalf of CLTTL in memory of Reg.
