Match Report - Leopards v Lynx

Stowmarket Leopards 6-4 Stowmarket Lynx

10/02/2016 - Ian Bridgeman

After the away match earlier in the season in which the Lynx won a 'close' fought duel 10-0, Leopards were fired up and ready for the home match . And so it proved as Leopards took an immediate 3-0 lead, Pete Bernard defeated David Gough for the first time, after losing the first game 14-16, the next 3 were won in relative comfort. Marcus Hammond beating Terry Betts also in 4 and Ian Bridgeman winning against Andrew Oakley but taking 5 games to do so.

Lynx took a game back with Terry beating Marcus in 3 straight games, Pete then returned the favour with a 3 game win over Andrew. Then came the longest match of the night between Ian & Terry, Ian won the first 2 games 11-9, 11-8, then Terry took the 3rd 5-11 before reversing the scores of the first 2 games to win 8-11, 9-11.

The remaining matches of the evening were all over in 3 games with Marcus beating Andrew and Pete beating Terry for Leopards; David beating Ian and in the doubles David and Terry beat Pete and Marcus for Lynx.

So at the end of a good nights table tennis the score was Leopards 6 Lynx 4 and the Leopards went home with some honour restored.
