Saying a #BigThankYou to our volunteers

This Sunday, Table Tennis England will be joining organisations all over the country to say a #BigThankYou to the unsung heroes who give so much back to their communities through volunteering.

The campaign, spearheaded by Join In and BBC Get Inspired, signs off with the Get Inspired Unsung Hero award at BBC Sports Personality of the Year on Sunday. It aims to ensure that the countless thousands of volunteers who make sport happen around the UK are thanked for putting in so much time and effort.

Here, Rio Olympian Sam Walker adds his personal thanks to all our amazing table tennis volunteers.

Volunteers are at the heart of table tennis, and their involvement in the sport allows the sport to grow. This year in the Pride of Table Tennis Awards, 69 Volunteers where crowned their Local Club or League’s Volunteer of the Year 2017. Each nomination showing the enthusiasm and passion for the sport and dedication and time spend in their role.

The Pride of Table Tennis Awards has now closed and regional and national winners will be announced in the New Year. Make sure you don’t miss out on next year’s Awards which will open later in the New Year.

In the meantime, if you want to join in with the #BigThankYou, you can click here to download a tool kit and certificate.
