INDIVIDUAL CLOSED CHAMPIONSHIPS 2017

To All Burnham League Players,

Please find an entry form for this year’s Burnham Closed Tournament here: Tournament Entry Form.xlsx or one can also be found inside your handbook.

The tournament is open to all players who have played a minimum of four league and/or cup matches between 01 September 2016 and 18 March 2017. Cadets and Juniors do not need to fulfil this requirement, they only need to be a member of a league club to enter. Players may enter as many or as few events as they wish.

As well as being a great event for playing table tennis it is very much a social event for players with play taking place in one hall with eight tables and plenty of spectator room and also with another room with refreshments (hot and cold) and seating. Your support of the refreshments (and raffle) goes a long way to paying for the cost of putting on the event and keeping the entry fees down.

Our tournament is not just about the top players - we have events for every standard, the Saturday is dedicated mostly to the junior and divisional events which mostly start with groups to ensure everyone gets a good number of matches. We also have the handicap events on Saturday with the handicap doubles having partners drawn by lot. This is very much a fun event.

The Sunday events are for the more senior players but this year we have decided to include a plate event for those players who fail to get through the group stages of the Men singles event. The men and ladies singles and mixed doubles events will be played in groups (dependent upon numbers) with winners and runners up progressing to the knockout stages so once again players should get a good number of matches.

We really would like to see as many of you at the tournament as possible. If you have any questions please feel free to ask any committee member.

Please return your Entry Form by the end of next week 10 February 2017.

Entry forms can be emailed to alan.dadswell@btinternet.com or posted to 71, Inchbonnie Road, South Woodham Ferrers, Essex, CM3 5GE.
