Henderson spares Pasty blushes

Sam Henderson spared Tanworth Pasties blushes last night ( December 14th ) with a polished hat trick against title chasing Barnt Green Aces.

Henderson dropped two sets, against Craig Allen , and was 10-8 down in the fifth end , before displaying considerable resilience to take the match 12-10.

There were some tremendous rallies , away from the table , amidst the somewhat cramped confines of the Margesson Drive venue. Craig has developed some new serves , which left Henderson flummoxed at times, but he was not to be denied his accomplished treble.

Pasties only other point came from a four set doubles victory for Henderson and Jason Rainey, over the Allen/Ian Scott pair, where Jason cleverly used his pips serve to set up some killer blows from Sam.

Mike Evetts struggled to no avail , although he did take a set from Craig and took Ian Scott to deuce with some vintage retrieving, he was increasingly nonplussed by ageless adversary Pat McCabe.

A good evening, which ended in the right way , with both teams enjoying a refreshment from Barnt Greens well appointed bar.
