Tomahawk Missiles

Tomahawks proved to be far too strong for the Bromsgrove/Redditch Division 1 bottom team, Blackwell Terriers, winning Monday’s home match 9-1. Only one set went beyond 3 games, with Tom Shortley taking one off Awais. Tom also secured the visitor’s only win by beating Neil, who went on to win the battle of the Super Vetts against fellow octogenarian, Brian Belcher, and included a surprising recovery from 10-2 down in the second game of his set against Pete Hartles, with 10 consecutive winning points

Tomahawks will face a stiffer challenge in their next match, away to top team, Droitwich Tigers, with the likelihood of three more all Colebridge clashes against their leading junior, Hawley Ellicott. No doubt Awais will be seeking revenge for his defeat by Hawley in the recent Clements Brothers Cup match.
