I would mention that I have been in touch with many fellow researchers over the last fifteen years.  One of those was Graham Frankel in Hertfordshire.  Back in 2012, he digitised every single ETTA magazine since 1935 and to make them available online (and word searchable).  Anyway, he has recently written a history book on our sport.  I purchased it and finished reading it yesterday and it is a great read. It will also be promoted on the TTE website shortly too.
