Belsten Cup Final 2011-12

The Belsten Cup Final between Filton and Bristol Civil Service was held on Thursday 26th April 2012 at the Knowle & Brislington Club. Filton were represented by top Korean players Je Kwon Choi and Young Min Kim, as well as the Bristol Closed singles champion Dean Cundy. Bristol Civil Service team included England No. 26 Garth Kinlocke, Dan Kolesnik and Chris Price.

Garth Kinlocke was the star player for Bristol Civil Service beating Dean Cundy in 4 sets and the previously unbeaten Je Kwon Choi in 5 sets. Despite Garth winning his 2 games the Filton team were too strong on the night for Dan Kolesnik and Chris Price who were unable to register a victory. Je Kwon Choi won the Belsten Cup for Filton by beating Chris Price in the 7th game of the night to complete a 5-2 victory. The Belsten Cup victory completed a great season for Filton Academy who were also crowned Premier Division champions.
