ENTERTAINING DRAW AT THE PARK!

An entertaining draw was played out as Graves Park Nomads welcomed stablemates Graves Park E. Player of the match was Pete Bell for the E Team who secured a hattrick of points but not without a major battle or two! First he brushed aside Alan Davy in straight ends before a titanic battle against Russ Freeman. Pete took the first end quite comfortably, but Russ hit back to take the next to level the score. The next three ends were all deuce ends with Pete taking the third 13-15 before Russ took the fourth 14-12, leaving a grand finale in the fifth, but it was Pete who scraped through 11-13. Just when Pete thought it couldn't get any harder though, Eriks Pitkovic put in arguably his best performance of the season, to take him to five ends too! With the first four ends shared, once again Pete was up against it and it was nip and tuck all the way before he again scraped through 11-13 in the fifth. With Alan Davy registering two wins, a straight set victory over Andrew Wheatcroft and another titanic five-set tussle with Alex Allbones, and Eriks adding one point with victory over the unlucky Andrew Wheatcroft but coming unstuck against the fast improving Alex Allbones, it meant that Nomads needed the doubles for an excellent win. However, the E team were having none of it with Bell/Allbones combination too strong for Freeman/Pitkovics, so a draw was the fair result on the night.
