Match Report

TWO MAN STICKNEY GO DOWN FIGHTING!

Paul Harnett and Vince Lozynsky could consider themselves a little unfortunate not to come away from their loss to Lodgers A with a bit more than 1 point, especially when 4 of the seven matches went five ends! Kelvin Clements was the first player to be taken to five ends by Paul Hartnett. Both players traded ends until Kelvin just got over the finishing line 13-15. Vince, not to be outdone, then came from 0-2 down against Gary Hill to take the next two ends 11-7, 11-9 before Gary pulled away in the fifth end 6-11. Graham Lacey was the player of the match, the only one not taken to five ends in the singles, with four set victories over both Paul and Vince. Paul was then 2-1 up against Gary Hill before Gary turned it around, taking the next two ends 7-11, 8-11. With Vince then losing in straight sets to Kelvin it was left to the doubles for Stickney to save face. With Paul/Vince 1-2 down against Kelvin/Graham, they finally got a five set match in their favour, coming through 11-8, 11-8 to earn themselves a hard-earned point.
