CUSTOMARY WIN FOR LODGERS J

With No. 1 ranked Brett Heppenstall unavailable for Lodgers J, you would think that would give the opposition some hope, but when the replacement is Brian Hill - maybe not! As it turned out Brian Hill put in another virtuoso display, racing through his singles in straight sets and earning another player of the match award in as many weeks. Alan Ashberry and the returning Chris Christoforou also won their singles although Lucas East gave Alan Ashberry a brief scare by taking the first end and pushing him all the way over the next three. Chris Christoforou was also given a stern examination by Darren Kent, Chris winning a close first end 11-13 and the second 9-11 before Darren hit back 11-6 in the third before Chris closed it out winning a titanic fourth end 15-17. It was a tougher night for Simon Raistrick who although battled well as usual, couldn't seem to get a foothold in the match. In the doubles Raistrick/East were outgunned by Ashberry/Christoforou in straight sets.
