STEVE ALLEN ON SONG!

  Lodger's Steve Allen had his "A" game with him when Lodgers C took on Graves Park A, with Steve brushing aside all his opponents in straight sets with some superb blocking and attacking. James "Quinno" Quinton was the pick of the Park players with two victories over Andy Pocklington and Scott Sykes with Quinno's forehand loop in particular, working very well. Martin Walters and Alan Reetham could consider themselves a bit unlucky, playing three five enders between them. Martin came from 2-0 down against Andy winning the next two ends 10-12, 10-12 before running out of steam in the fifth 11-5. In his traditional five-ender against Scott, he was 1-2 up before Scott came through 11-3, 11-4 in the next two ends. In the final singles of the night, Alan Reetham came up against his nemesis Andy Pocklington, with Alan losing the previous two times against Andy in five sets. With the first four ends shared, once again it went the full distance, but yet again, it was Andy who sneaked through 11-8 in the fifth! With the match at 7-2, Quinno/Walters took on Sykes/Allen and it was the Park duo who took the win in four sets to end a very enjoyable match.
