Match Report

It was a close fought battle when Tetford made the journey to Wrangle to take on Lodgers D, with the Lodgers team just edging the match-up 6-4. Lodger's Steve Hill was the only player to come out of the battle unscathed, taking all three of his match-ups without too much difficulty, although Mary Silverton gave him a brief scare, taking the third end 9-11. Tony Kime added two points with victories over Mary Silverton and Mike Schofield but just missed out on his hattrick with Mike Wade pipping him to the post in a tight five-ender, Mike taking the decisive end 9-11. It was a tougher night for Richard Scott, who battled well but couldn't make any headway against the Tetford trio. With the score poised at 5-4 for Lodgers, the doubles took on extra significance with Lodgers fielding Steve and Tony against Mary and Mike Schofield. With the first four ends shared, it came down to a nail-biting finale, but it was the Lodger's duo who came through to give them the point needed for a 6-4 victory.
