Bolton News 18 February

League matches continued last week in the Bolton & District Table Tennis League. Flixton ppong A are way out leaders in the Premier Division. They had a 24-4 win over ninth-placed Radcliffe TTC with nines coming from Pawel Orzechowski and Stephen Scowcroft. Second-placed Ramsbottom Town A had a full points win 27 -1 against a two-man Wharton in seventh place. Flixton ppong B in third place beat Hilton A two places below 24-12 with nines from Jordan Potts and Anthony Bates. Fifth-placed Coburg A played Little Lever Cricket Club A one place below them and a 17-17 draw was reached. Nine points came from Coburg’s Charles Musa. Eight-placed Burning desire just secured a win 19-15 over Ramsbottom Town B two places below them while second-bottom Ladybridge A played bottom team Hilton B securing a 20-17 win with nine from Stephen Barber.

Top team in Division One, Ramsbottom Town C beat ninth-placed Hilton E 25-8 with nines from Martin Holt and Robert Bent. Second-placed Polonia Club A have a result to come while third-placed Hilton D secured a 22-10 win over Little Lever Cricket Club B two places below assisted by nine from Stuart Wallis. Coburg B in fourth place beat mid-table Meadow Ben A 20-12 helped by nine from Chris Naylor. Second-bottom North West Lions beat bottom team Farnworth Social Circle A  18 -15 despite a resisting nine from Iaian Lindley.

In Division Two top team Farnworth Social Circle C lost out 20-15 to mid-table Hilton Hawks whose Peter McCormick obliged with nine. Second-placed Ladybridge B had an open week while third-placed Ramsbottom Town D beat bottom Team Brass Zone 23-13 with nines from Tim Fields and James Wormwell. Fourth-placed  Heaton Cricket Club B just pipped Lostock Tennis Club in eighth place  18-17. Fifth-placed Hilton Top Spinners were held to a 16-16 draw by second-bottom Farnworth Social Circle B with Kirit Chauhan on nine for the Spinners. Mid-table Meadow Ben B beat ninth-placed Hilton F 23-10 helped by nine from Mike Heaton.

Farnworth Social Circle also top the Third Division. Their D team has only lost one match this season. They played juniors Hilton I winning 25-17 with nines from Elena Cecilia Tepelus and Pete Walker. Second-placed Meadow Ben C went to town with a full points 27-4 win over bottom team Bolton Hindu Forum. Third-placed Polonia Club B also had a good 26-8 win against fifth-placed Hilton G, with nines from Stefan Jankowski and Mariusz Turski. Fourth-placed Albany had a good 18-12 win over seventh-placed Ladybridge C despite a resisting nine from John Hilton. Mid-table Meadow Ben D beat ninth-placed Hilton H 21-12 with nines from Steven Robertson and Neil Cowburn.
