Last week in the Bolton & District Table Tennis League the last event of 2019 took place which was the second round of the Divisional Cups. In the Brian Gittins Cup for Premier and Division One teams, Division One team Hilton D made full use of their 73.5 start to run out winners over Wharton from the Premier Division 429.5 – 369. Division One team Hilton E only had 0.5 start but Meadow Ben A from the same division overpowered them 378 281.5. Farnworth Social Circle A had a 72.5 start but victors Polonia Club A went through 391 – 326.5.  Heaton Cricket Club A from Division One had a 122.5 start but were outgunned 405 – 309.5 by second top Premier Team Ramsbottom Town A. Ramsbottom Town B, unfortunately, played and invalid player allowing Burning Desire through as did Little Lever Cricket Club A letting Coburg B into the next round. Wingates gave Flixton ppong A a walkover into the next round, as did Hilton A letting Ramsbottom C through.

In the George Yates Trophy for teams from Divisions Two and Three, Ladybridge only had a 0.5 start but were overpowered by Farnworth Social Circle B 350 – 291.5. Polonia Club B had a 77.5 start but already established cup winners, Hilton Hawks, were able to maintain their reputation winning 393 – 347.5. Albany made full use of their 85.5 start to run out winners over Farnworth Social Circle C 360.5 – 337. Heaton Cricket Club B had a 0.5 start but were just pipped by Meadow Ben B 356 – 348.5. Meadow Ben C also had a 0.5 start to prevent a draw and ran out winners 351.5 – 292 against Hilton G. Brass Zone failed to show incurring a fine and allowing Hilton Top spinners into the next round.

Play resumes in the week commencing 6 January 2020 with the second half of the league season.
