Bolton News 8th February

In the Premier Division a disparity of scores were evident last week as top teams improved their scores at the expense of the lower placed. Third place Ramsbottom Town A trounced a two man Nomads A 27 – 1. Top of the table Ramsbottom Cricket Club had a 24 – 8 win over Flixton Cricket Club B with Hao Chih and Kyan Chin gaining maximum nine points each. Second placed Flixton Cricket Club A met Heaton A taking it 25 – 7 with nines from Flixton’s Stephen Scowcroft and Philip Bowen. Wharton’s week was also plain sailing with a 26 – 3 win over bottom of the table Coburg A with maximum points from Barry Elliott and Ian McLean. Slightly closer matches saw Hilton A with a 23 – 11 over Ladybridge A helped by nines from Andrew Michnowiec and Mark Gibson. Little Lever Cricket Club A beat Radcliffe Cricket Club 24 – 15 assisted by a nine from Graham Jeffries.

There were more balanced scores in Division One. Top of the table Burning Desire march on with a 21 – 14 win over second placed Nomads A despite a resisting nine from Naz Ahmed. Fourth placed Hilton B had a 23 – 14 win over Farnworth S C A despite a resisting nine from Iain Lindley. Ramsbottom Town B beat Hilton C 21 – 10 helped by a nine from Keith Howarth and Coburg B beat Meadow Ben A 25 – 11.

In Division Two top placed Heaton Cricket Club B obtained maximum points for all players winning 27- 7 against next to the bottom Boyzone. Third place Hilton F lost out to lower placed BRASS B 19-14. Hilton E had a 21 – 10 win over bottom placed Top Spinners helped by nines from Hilton’s Gary Hilton and John Barker. Meadow Ben B had a very close 19 – 17 win over Bolton TTC A helped by a nine from Mike Heaton.

In Division Three top placed Bolton TTC B had a 23 – 9 win over Polonia Club with Sam Greenhalgh and Peter McCormick on maximum points. Third placed Farnworth SC B beat Hilton G 26 – 8 with nines from Martyn Garnett and Bernd Dumpelnik. Meadow Ben C outplayed Farnworth SC C 26 – 6 with a nines from Ian Wheeldon and Alan Hibbert. Due to an alleged texting mix up Walkden Methodists turned up to find Ramsbottom Town C failed to show. Walkden win 15 – 0 based on their average score so far.

In Division Four top team juniors Hilton I extracted maximum points 27 – 3 over mid-table Meadow Ben D. Second placed Hilton H met juniors Hilton J who with only two players were easily beaten 23 – 10. Third placed Meadow Hill A beat Albany 25 – 11 with nines from Roy Caswell and Bob Woodcock. However, Meadow Hill’s B team resting at the bottom of the division were beaten by Ladybridge C just above them 26 – 5 with maximum points from Andrew Scully and Robin Llewellyn.
