Bolton News 14th December

While the two smaller Divisions of Three and Four began an extended Christmas break, last week the other Divisions began the second half of the season with two weeks of matches before the break.

In the Premier it was top team Ramsbottom Cricket Club who played against the bottom team Coburg A. No surprise then, as Ramsbottom took it 27-4 with all their players on maximum points. Radcliffe Cricket Club took Heaton Cricket Club A to task 24-6 with nines from Zac Cantor and Robert Hall. The other matches were more equal with Ramsbottom Town  A beating Flixton Cricket Club B 23-18 with a nine from Michael Moir. Nomads A had a 18-12 win against Ladybridge A with a nine from Dennis Collier and Little Lever Cricket Club A had a very close 19-18 win over Wharton with a nine from Graham Jeffries. Second placed Flixton Cricket Club A had a 20-13 win over Hilton A helped by a nine from Stephen Scowcroft.

In Division One Burning Desire endorsed their commitment to return to the Premier Division with a 25-5 rampage over Wingates with nines for Dennis Collier and Brett Haslam. Acre Bottom returned to second place with a 27-7 win over Little Lever B with nines from Brian Clements and Martin Holt. Nomads B beat second from the bottom Hilton C 21-11 helped by a nine from Naz Ahmed. Farnworth SC A has a 23-14 win over Ramsbottom Town B with the return of John Hutchinson and a nine from him. Hilton B had a 21-14 win over Coburg B despite a resisting nine from Kevin Chapman. Another resisting nine from Stephen Jones did not help bottom of the table Meadow Ben A who went down 21-16 to BRASS A.

Division Two’s top of the table Hilton D had a 25-5 win over mid-table Meadow Ben B with nines from Roy Alty and Matthew Fishwick. Bolton Table Tennis Club A had a good 25-10 win over Boyzone to help push them up into third place with nines from Kirit Chauhan and Nayem Alam. Bottom of the table Top Spinners must have been reasonably pleased with holding second placed Heaton Cricket Club B to a 18-12 win for Heaton with a nine from Heaton’s Duncan Kay. Ladybridge B had a 25-12 win over BRASS B assisted by nines from John Cole and Brian Greenhalgh.
